James Hackett, LMT

Jim is the owner and Director of MSTM. He teaches  Anatomy and Physiology, Neuromuscular Therapy, Treatment of Common Conditions, and Advanced Certification Programs.  Jim has over 30 years of experience as a massage therapist and teacher.

He co-founded the Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 1981 where he served as Director of Education and an instructor for 17 years. He has been involved in the profession at the national level, serving as the Chairman of the American Massage Therapy Association Council of Schools for three years.

He is certified in Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports and Orthopedic Massage, Structural Bodywork, the Rolf Method of Structural Integration, Trager Psychophysical Integration, Polarity Therapy, and Jin Shin Do Acupressure. Jim incorporates therapeutic movement into his practice and teaching and is certified by NASM as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and by the Chek Institute as a Chek Golf Biomechanic.  He is currently in advanced study with Judith Aston, founder of Aston Kinetics.   Jim has taught advanced therapeutic massage techniques internationally and produced his own training videos and manuals

Lynn Wind, RMT, LMT

Lynn Wind is an internationally renowned teacher and massage therapist with over 30 years of
experience in a wide  range of therapeutic modalities.  Originally trained in Ontario, Canada,
Lynn founded and directed the Hawaiian Islands School of Massage on the Big Island for 22 years.

Lynn is a dynamic teacher with unparalleled depth and breadth of knowledge and we are excited to welcome her as a teacher and featured presenter in MSTM’s advanced certification programs. This year Lynn is being inducted into Massage Therapy Hall of Fame and will be offering a variety of courses through MSTM including her advanced certification program in the Lynn Wind Method of Integrated Medical massage.

Raphiell Nolin, LMT

Raphiell has been practicing massage since 1980, working in chiropractic and physical therapy clinics, resort spas and private practice.  He has been on the faculty of MSTM since its opening in 1995.  He teaches Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Spa Treatments, Hot Stones, Treatments of Common Conditions and Business Practices. Raphiell is a supervisor in our Student Clinic and Community Outreach program.  He also offers treatments to the public in our Faculty Clinic.

Jeana Iwalani Naluai, MPT, LMT

Jeana is a native Hawaiian committed to perpetuating her culture through the healing arts.

Jeana is currently a licensed Physical Therapist and Massage Therapist, as well as a certified Clinical Lomi Lomi instructor in the lineage of Aunty Margaret Machado and Dr. Maka’ala Yates.

Jeana is the owner of Hale Ho’omana Spa Retreat in Makawao where she runs her private practice and opens her retreat space to all modalities encouraging education in universal consciousness.

Kurt Miyajima, LMT

Kurt is a certified Tai Chi, Chi Gung, & Longevity Breathing instructor on island with over 29 years of study & training.  He is also a graduate of MSTM and a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Kurt teaches Chi Gung within the program, is a Clinical Supervisor, and teaches technique in the Massage Technique course as well as Neuromuscular Thrapy.

He has taught publicly on Maui since 1991 for various groups & private organizations ranging from luxury resorts to state funded organizations medical clinics & groups, senior communities, spiritual groups, as well as private tutoring. He has performed in numerous
public demonstrations, for private organizations, and has made several television appearances.

 

Shelagh Lampshire, LMT

Shelagh Lampshire, LMT, NCTMB teaches Anatomy and Physiology.  She also serves as Academic Coordinator, is a Clinical Supervisor, and assists in teaching NMT, Anatomy and Kinesiology, and Clinical Practice Skills and Assessment.  She teaches review classes for the National Certification Exam (NCETMB). Shelagh graduated with a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University in 1996 and received her certification as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist from the California College of Ayurveda in 2004.

Jennifer Bonadio

Jennifer Bonadio, LMT, CYT is a Massage Technique Instructor and Clinical Supervisor.   She is a Certified Yoga Teacher and Massage Therapist with over 22 years of experience, and a lifetime of  dedication to the study and sharing of Body/Mind/Spirit wellness care. She brings her gifts of intuitive insight and grounded spirituality to her broad spectrum of knowledge and experience in the healing arts. She has years of experience working on multidisciplinary teams with injuries, trauma and chronic issues, as well as therapeutic and developmental applications of the tools of  Yoga and Massage Therapy. She has been certified as a yoga teacher by the Viniyoga Institute in the tradition of Krishnamacharya, a lineage well suited to adaptation to individual needs for healing and personal growth.

Kalia Kelmenson

Kalia Kelmenson serves as MSTM’s Wellness Coach and instructor within our Wellness classes and programs. She is certified as a Professional Wellness Coach, ACSM personal trainer, and massage therapist, bringing over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness arena.  Kalia received her pre-med degree, with an emphasis on Psychobiology from Santa Clara University. Kalia’s passion for health and fitness has evolved into working with individuals and groups to discover their optimal level of well-being, which includes physical, mental and emotional components.  Kalia has a private practice on Maui in which she empowers individuals to design their lives for vibrant well-being.
